I am Leo Long(Spanish Ph.D. C.). I am an editor in Luxury Tourism Magazine in Macao, a best-selling book writer, a tourism marketing expert and a travel blogger. I started to travel at 16 years old, did my gap year travel at 22, and reached my 100th country at the age of 29. (Countries that I have visited).

I started travel writing in 2006. So far I have published 3 travel books and one of them became a best-selling book. I have 70,000+ followers on social media. I speak Chinese natively, educated in English and master Spanish. I have the honor to attend the official visits of China with three terms’ Uruguayan presidents, attend the official visit of China of the vice premier of Vanuatu, and meet with the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations H.E. Mr.Ban Ki-moon.

I enjoy traveling since childhood and dreamed to become a traveler. My parents brought me to visit many places in China when I was a child. At the age of 16 I started to travel alone. I share my travel stories, experience, and thoughts on my this website(in Chinese) and on social media including in English on Instagram luxtourism, Facebook luxtourism, Youtube. 

I also act in the diplomacy. Due to confidentiality agreement, I do not share about it.

• Highlights of my life

2007(18yrs’ old) Graduated from high school and went backpacking in Southeast Asia for one and half months.

2010(22yrs’ old) “Escaped” from university internship to travel all the way by train from southern China) to Europe via Trans-Siberian Railway and (flew to Cairo from Brussel) then from Egypt to Middle East then to India by bus passing in total 17 countries for 5 months.

2011 Published my first book – I Sleep in Couch and Travel. It has become one of the best-selling books at the time in a few Asian countries.

Graduated from university. I started my gap year travel and bought an one way ticket to Los Angles, USA. Spent 17 months traveled all the way passing 17 countries down to the Antarctica.

2013 Published my second book –  Gap Year in Latin America. It has encouraged thousands of millennials to explore the world.

Assisted Uruguayan president H.E. Jose Mujica’s official visit to China.

2015 Published my third book – All Over South America. It is a book about South American culture, travel and life. Taiwanese TV star Haoping Sui wrote a foreword for it.

2016 Assisted Uruguayan president H.E. Tabaré Vázquez’s official visit to China.

2018 Reached my 100th country – Haiti before 30 years’ old.

Meeting with H.E. Mr.Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations.

2023 Reached the North Pole (N90°)
